Black Horse
By Addison Kline

My Review!
4.5 Stars!

Black Horse is a man to fear, and will soon be getting out to terrorize those that were left standing after he tragically murdered half a family 20 years previous-including the son he hates and Avery, the only person to make it out of the house alive the night he slaughter the family that had so kindly taken his son in as their own.

Avery and Colton against the wishes of her surviving brother's are drawn to each other in a way that can't be denied. Not only is Colton her protector, but also her soul mate and their happiness is just one more reason for Colton's father Black Horse want to destroy them and their happiness. But he has a surprise coming with the force the two of them make together.

Black Horse is a romantic thriller that will leave you almost...almost, rooting for the bad guy. You can see through all his psychotic behavior he is also a very broken man. Colton and Avery deserve the peace and happiness more, so ultimately I choose to root for them to win in the battle with Black Horse.

The ending leaves you wonder just what you don't know and with knowledge that there is more to the story to come. This was an awesome page turning thriller, with just the right mix of characters and plot to make a fantastic story!

About the Book:
There is no sensation, no experience more delicious and tempting to the sense that the taste of forbidden love. The longing, the desire… the unquenched thirst for his touch. He was the man I was never supposed to love. I was supposed to hate him. I supposed part of me did and that is what made the desire so much more intense. He set a fire under my skin that burned white hot with every smoldering glance. He sets my soul ablaze, the slow burn of passion aching in every inch of my body.

Black Horse. The name haunted my dreams… But regardless of family vendettas, old hurts and contemptuous blood shed, the heart wants what it wants… The kingdom of my heart has only known one king, and his name is Colton McClain.
His family is known by his father’s nickname: Black Horse. Like one of the four horses flying out of the gates of hell, Tom “Black Horse” McClain ripped my world apart twenty years ago. I was only five when I found my mother and father dead in their beds, with Tom McClain standing over them with a blood stained butcher knife. He would have come for me, too, had my brother not saved me. I was the only one of my family to walk out of that house alive that night.
My brothers once considered Colton their best friend. Not anymore. Randy and Tim largely blame Colt for his father’s actions and take it to heart that I love the son of our parent’s killer. Colton is not to blame for their deaths, though… He was a victim, too. Now twenty years after murders, Black Horse is getting out of jail. He’s coming. He has a vendetta against me, because it was my testimony that put me away. Colt wants to hide me until he can take down his old man, but to hell with that. I have no intentions upon running. We cannot hide from this anymore. Our past does not own us, and we owe it to our hearts to show the world that love can arise from the darkest of places. We just have to survive Black Horse to tell the tale.

Review!! Into Coraira, By Jamie Lee Mann

Into Coraira:

The Legend of Rhyme Series (Volume 1, Book 2)

Jamie Lee Mann

My Review!
4.0 Stars

Book 2 of the Rhynes series brings the twins Asher and Ariana back together, as well as delving into the gifts and their greater purpose. Unfortunately they don't get a lot of time to develop their gifts before trouble arrives. It was heartbreaking to know that they were at risk from relatives who should have been the first to protect them from trouble. But as all good stories go, there is far more there then one expects and helps come's from unlikely places.

This story is a great read for middle school aged kids, very appropriate and had nothing that would not work this age group. It was a fun quick read, with many interesting characters and leads into what I am going to guess will be a 3rd book in the series, as the story will definitely continue on.

Synopsis:
The Kingdom of Falmoor has been freed of its curse. The evil one, banished to the dark realm. Finally reunited after an eight year separation, Asher and Ariana Caine learn they possess magic - a magic more powerful when they're together. But the Caine twins don't have much time to discover their powers before they face a new threat. This time, it's not just Rhyme that's at risk, but also the magical realm of Coraira, as the evil sorcerer Asgall plans to take over all the world's magic. And he wants the twins' powers to help him do it. Can the twins defeat Asgall before he destroys everything and everyone they love?
